Dear Valued Customer,
As ongoing disruptions in and around the Arabian Gulf continue to affect the global shipping industry and energy markets, we would like to update you on the resulting impact on freight and logistics services.
The current geopolitical climate and necessary safety protocols are creating significant challenges across our operations:
- Rising Energy Costs: Sharp increases in fuel and bunker prices are driving up costs for shipping, trucking, and depot services.
- Space Constraints: Limitations on bookings and adjustments to port calls are reducing available capacity on vessels and land-based logistics.
- Port Congestion: Schedule disruptions and rerouting are causing congestion at key ports, affecting transit times and operational efficiency.
- Heightened Risks: Elevated insurance premiums and enhanced security requirements to protect people, assets, and cargo have resulted in additional surcharges, including War Risk and Emergency Conflict Surcharges.
Consequently, there is a significant increase in Ocean Freight, Inland Transport (trucking, barge), and Depot Services (cleaning, heating, etc.), and this would require an increase in prices. These adjustments are necessary to ensure operational stability and maintain reliable service.
We are proactively exploring alternative routing options to support your business continuity. Where feasible, we are leveraging alternate ports within the region and implementing Landbridge solutions to facilitate uninterrupted cargo flows. We encourage you to connect with your local Stolt teams, who are available to provide tailored options and information to best meet your specific needs.
We remain fully committed to service continuity and appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Stolt Tank Containers
